Corporate Identity Project, 2019

For this project I came up with the idea of a range of Insect Repellent Clothing specifically aimed at infants and toddlers, named Bug-A-Bye Baby. I carried out some basic market research to help me with the positioning of the product.

Outcome of the Research

I interviewed five mothers of young children regarding their views on the efficacy of existing insect repellent products, and also what they would rank as the most important qualities of insect repllent apparel for children, if such a product exist.

What I found was that parents feel that most insect repellent products aimed at children are not that effective. To them, insect repllent apparel is a good idea but they will need assurance over its safety and efficacy.

Impact on Design

With the above in mind, I tried to convey a sense of security in the design of the logo - a parent shielding a child from harm, and used pastel teal colour to project a sense of trustworthiness and nature.  The copy within the hang tag explains how the insect repellent technology used is US EPA approved, to add credibility to the brand.

Collaterals Produced

I had a set of infant and toddlers clothes made, designed the logo, corporate stationery, and various marketing collaterals including gift box packaging, wrapping paper, stickers, hang tags, fabric tags and tote bag.
